Dr. M. Sra

Dr. Sra graduated in 1996 from College of Veterinary Medicine at PAU in India. He came to Canada in 1997 and wrote required examinations in 1998. Dr. Sra started practicing in 1999 in Winnipeg at The Winnipeg Animal Emergency clinic where he practiced for 6 years. In 2008 he opened up his own hospital; Southglen Veterinary Hospital. He has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and emergency and critical care. Every year Dr. Sra does 50-70 hours of continuing education to keep up to date on new techniques as veterinary medicine is always evolving.  In his spare time he is an avid golfer. He enjoys spending time with his son, daughter, and two dogs, Zoe and Zara.

Dr. O. Blanvoort

Dr.Blankvoort has been a part of the Southglen team for one year.  She previously graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and from the University of Saskatchewan with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr.Blankvoort has two cats, Doctor Science who was rescued after a blizzard at her parents farm and Louie who was adopted from D'Arcy's ARC.  She likes collecting red wine, enjoys live music, golfing, curling, travelling and holds both a Canadian and a Dutch passport - just like James Bond!

Dr. A. Litchfield

Dr. Litchfield has been working as a small animal veterinarian in Winnipeg for the last 5 years and started at Southglen in January 2015.  Before graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine she completed a Bachelor of Science focused on microbiology and chemistry.   She has a keen interest in anaesthesia, rescue medicine and pain management. Dr.Litchfield enjoys building relationships with clients and working as a team to help families make the most appropriate medical decisions for them and their pets. She has a trio of rescue pets, including Lemon a hyper Labrador cross that keeps her on her toes, Spunky an old foster fail with cerebellar hypoplasia and Carrot the newest addition, a cat from Manitoba Underdogs Rescue. In her spare time, Dr.Litchfield likes to paint, go camping, cross country ski, and spend as much time as possible socializing with friends and family whether out for dinner or at the family cottage.

Dr. T. Guinn

Dr. Guinn started at Southglen in the summer of 2014 as a student while completing her degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She joined the team as a Veterinarian in 2015.  Dr.Guinn is very thorough in her cases and makes sure client’s go home with a full understanding.   She has two cats, Amy a 5-year-old grey Tabby who was a foster fail and Rose a 4-year-old orange Tabby who was rescued from the Saskatoon SPCA.  In her spare time she enjoys playing squash, cycling, yoga, going to the lake and hanging out with friends.  Before completing her DVM, Dr. Guinn did 3 years of undergrad focusing on biochemistry and microbiology.  She has an identical twin!

Dr.  C. Ward

We are very excited to welcome Dr. Ward to our team as of May 2017. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine this year. Before attending the WCVM, Dr. Ward did volunteer veterinary work in India, and spent three years studying Animal Science and Agriculture at the University of Manitoba. On her spare time she enjoys going to the lake, travelling, playing hockey and practicing the ukulele. She also loves spending time with her two dogs. Nacho is a corgi-lab x who she rescued during a volunteer trip in Guatemala, and River, a stray that was found wondering the Assiniboine River. 

Hospital Administrator


Andrea joined the Southglen team in November 2014 as our Practice Administrator.  She attended the University of Winnipeg and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.  At home Andrea has three children and a 2-year-old Bernese mountain dog named Tenor.  Tenor spends most of his time supervising the kids considering them his own and can’t be separated from them.  He ensures everybody finishes their meals or else he will!  Andrea makes sure the practice is running smoothly and everybody’s needs are being met, especially our fluffy four-legged friends!  She is a huge fan of the Veterinary Economics magazine and waits for each issue to arrive. 

Register Animal Health Technicians (RAHT)

Kim M.

Kim has been a part of the Southglen team since starting in 2012.  She graduated from Red River in 2008 as a Registered Animal Health Technologist.  At Southglen Kim has a caring touch with patients and is always making sure your pet is comfortable.  Kim has a 1.5 year old German Shephard name Kylo Ren. She likes to spend her free time enjoying the outdoors, knitting and spending time with friends.


Stephanie has been at Southglen since 2010.  She started as a volunteer before beginning the Red River RAHT program and continued working until graduating with her diploma in 2013.  Stephanie loves going to her cabin and spending time with her friends, family, dog Cassie and kitten Neville Longbottom.  Cassie is a 5-year-old husky who was adopted through the clinic after being found as a stray.  Neville Longbottom is Stephanie's latest addition, who was also brought in as a stray and adopted by Stephanie. Stephanie has special interests in venipuncture and canine rehabilitation.  She will be soon be getting certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Assistant. 


Jessica started working at Southglen in December 2013.  She graduated from the RAHT program at Red River College in 2013.  Jessica loves cats and has three of her own, Salem and Littlefoot, and Bast.  Salem is a fifteen-year-old domestic shorthair that loves sitting on the deck and Littlefoot is a 2-year-old brown and white Tabby who likes to tease Salem. Bast is the newest addition to the crew, and was born in August of 2016. Bast is very energetic and always has Jessica on her toes. Jessica loves to bake, watch horror moves and spend time at her cabin in Falcon Lake.  At Southglen Jessica is has a caring touch and always put's the pets comfort first. She is also our nutrition counsellor here at Southglen, and does an amazing job ensuring all of our patients are on the correct diet, whether it be maintenance diet or a weight loss journey.


Teri has been part of the Southglen team for a year and a half as one of our Registered Animal Health Technicians.  She graduated from Red River College in 2004, and has been extremely busy ever since. She not only works here but also has another position in the animal health field. She keeps the team running smoothly and promptly, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. At home Teri has a 16-year-old domestic short hair named Thunder.  She loves spending time with friends, camping and canoeing. 


Ashlee joined the Southglen team as a veterinary assistant in 2013 and began working as an AHT in 2014 after graduating from the Animal Health Technology Program at Red River.  Ashlee has a 2-year-old chinchilla named Rico at home.  When she isn’t working she likes to spend time with friends and family, go to the cabin and snuggle with Rico!  She also collects everything from The Lion King.  At Southglen Ashlee keeps everyone laughing and always gives the up-most care to your pet! 


Barb started at Southglen in September 2014.  She has been working in the veterinary profession since graduating as a Registered Animal Health Technologist in 1993 and still loves her job.  Barb is experienced in dentistry and is one of our fastest cone makers!  She has four kids at home and one fur-kid named Leo.  Leo is a 134-pound Great Dane who loves to sit on the couch!  Barb loves to spend her spare time working in her garden.  


Lianne started at Southglen in June of 2016. She graduated in the Spring from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River Collegiate. She has two cats, Flaca who is a diabetic Tortieshell, and Sia, a one-year-old Siamese. She plays soccer on multiple teams, and plays three instruments, the violin, piano, and guitar. Lianne grew up with all sorts of pets, such as turtles, snakes, hamsters, dogs, cats, and her family now has a small chicken farm.


Shannon has been part of the Southglen team since February 2016. She graduated from the Red River Animal Health Technology program with honors in 2001.  Shannon has a variety of experience working with not only companion animals, but also large, small and exotic animals over the course of her career. Shannon loves all animals big and small, and always treats her patients like one of her own. At home, Shannon has two dogs, Raven who is a 12-year-old Black Lab Cross, and Jersey, and 8-year-old Husky Cross. She also has a 7-year-old daughter named Rylee that hopes to follow in her Mom's footsteps working with animals and plans to become a zoo keeper when she grows up. When Shannon is not working, she can be found shuttling Rylee to her various activities, on the volleyball court, baseball diamond, camping, or spending time at her family cottage.


Breanne has been working as an RVT at Southglen since March 2017. She graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College in 2014. On her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and travelling. She has two pets at home- Autumn, a 1.5 year old Golden Retriever, and Amira, a 2 year old DSH.

Veterinary Assistants


Sarah has been working at Southglen as a veterinary assistant since March 2013.  Sarah has two dogs at home; Teddy is a Maltese mix and Winston, a two-year-old Goldendoodle.  She loves spending her time off with friends and family at her lake or going to the dog park.  Sarah graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor of Science, and is currently in the sonography program at Red River College.  At Southglen Sarah shows her compassion with clients and she always makes sure your pet doesn't leave the clinic without a hug.

Janelle L.

Janelle joined the Southglen team in May 2015.  She makes everyone feel comfortable while at the vet, including any nervous fur-babies!  At home she has three of her own, Anabell an eleven-year-old Yorkshire Terrier,  Nash a two-year-old Rottweiler, and a three legged Border Collie mix from CAARE Rescue named Bullet. She enjoys taking all three of them to the dog park. Janelle has a  Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Manitoba.

Kim I.

Kim has been working as a veterinary assistant at Southglen since January 2014.  In 2013, she graduated from the Robertson College with honors in the Veterinary Office Assistant Program.  Kim has two stunning Sphynx cats at home, Sookie who is a year and a half old and Hades who is only a year old.  She spends her time working, playing video games or at home with her two eye-catching cats! Kim is a great multi-tasker and does fantastic in emergency situations always making sure the pet's needs are met!


Corrie has been in the veterinary profession since graduating from the Robertson College program in 2000 and joined the Southglen team in January 2015.  At Southglen Corrie is always smiling and is a go-to for knowledge!  At home she has two dogs, a Shih Tzu named Clay, a Rottweiler named Piper, and three cats, RJ, Cheeko, and Apaulo. During the summer Corrie loves to go camping with her family every weekend and has been a Bomber season ticket holder for the past fourteen years!


Kimrin has been here at Southglen since June 2016. She is currently in grade 12 at The University of Winnipeg Collegiate. Kimrin always greets everyone with a big smile and is very welcoming to any nervous patients. She has two dogs at home, Zoe who is a Sealyham Terrier, and Zara who she adopted from Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue. Kimrin plays on the UWC Wesmen Volleyball team, and enjoys spending time with her friends.

Janelle S.

Janelle has been part of the Southglen team since September of 2015. Janelle has one fur baby at home named Princess, who is a 12-year-old Maltese mix. Her name fits her perfectly, and is Janelle's whole world. When not at school working towards becoming an animal health technologist at Red River College, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family at their cabin and soaking up the sun on the beach. She is looking forward to completing the Animal Health Technologist program, and can't imagine doing anything other than working with animals.


Emma has been a veterinary assistant at Southglen since February 2016. She has a bachelor of Arts, majoring in both history and politics which she obtained at the University of Winnipeg. She has a 4-year-old black lab from Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue named Nova and a kitten named Meowkith who was found as a stray. Emma is passionate about working with animals and enjoys spending time with all of our patients. In her spare time, Emma loves playing soccer, previously playing for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen.


Xena joined Southglen Veterinary Hospital in August of 2017 as a veterinary assistant. She will be applying for the Animal Health Technologist program at Red River College in the near future. Xena grew up on a farm surrounded by animals- cows, horses, chickens and pigs to name a few. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her dog Lacy, and spending time in Lac Du Bonnet with her family and friends.


Savannah started at Southglen in May of 2017 after completing the Veterinary Office Assistant course at Red River College. Savannah has quite a few pets at home- Jasper, a 7-year-old black cat, George, a 15-year-old cat, Winnie who is 1, 3 fish and 2 budgies! When Savannah isn't busy caring for her own pets she enjoys getting to know all of the patients here. Savannah also enjoys working with large animals, and plans on entering the Registered Veterinary Technologist program at Red River College. She spends her free time in the outdoors- snowmobiling, quading and fishing.
